Summer ‘25
North Downs Butterflies
Marbled White Butterfly
For some reason June has been quite quiet for birding, and although the birds are not out as much as usual, the butterflies on the North Downs are very prolific.
They are great to watch busy at work. Spotted in June:
Marbled White
Ringlet
Small Tortoiseshell
Small Heath
Comma
Red Admiral
A Buzzards Dinner
Buzzard with pigeon bits
This Buzzard was carrying what appears to be part of a pigeon. It seemed to want to take its recently caught dinner near a group of Crowes almost appearing to mock them doing a few circles before flying off.
