Spring 2026

Nest Building

Nesting Red Kite

Spring is now here and it’s interesting to see some of the old nesting locations from last year get reused again.

Unfortunately some have been lost to downed trees over the winder period, however this one in particular survived and is resident again to a breeding pair of Red Kites.

(I assume) the female lays in the nest while the male goes searching for food to bring back to the nest.

This nest is visible from the road through a very narrow view through the trees. It will soon again become surrounded by leaves hiding it from the view of passers by.
